Today I worked on a rusty corner of the bed.
The rear stake pocket had a bit of rust through ......
First I cut out the bad |
Then I traced the shape |
Note the slight lip to tie into the stake pocket |
I started t ouse a grinder to cut it and decided I could do better with a hacksaw. |
Final piece |
Welded in |
and the bed that supports that part of the stake pocket was also pretty bad .....
Other side done |
I also received the transmission pawl to replace the one I welded... I'm looking forward to switching that out so I don't have to worry about my poor welding skills!
"Pawl" is the part that has the hour glass shape. |
