Pounding Steel

Steel on Fire
Above is a pretty cool picture of the inner wheel well panel. It is just the reflections in a poorly lit garage on bare metal. To me it looks like the steel is red hot ... you can almost see flames.

Spent the day straightening the two inner fender panels. One had two small holes that needed to be filled and a section missing where a bolt goes through that I welded up.

Ground weld where bolt hole was repaired by a PO

Ground the old repair weld

Pretty Straight

The next pictures are from the other one .........

Bottom right you can see  "U" notched out of the edge. This is suppose to be a bolt hole.

Ground old repair weld.

Ground old repair weld.

Pretty straight.

Copper piped clamped under hole so I can fill it in from the top. The weld does not melt the copper.

Ready to fill.

Filled

Ground.

Repair patch in place and ready for a new bolt hole.

From the other side.
Cleaned up the garage ...ready for next week!!
As you can see from the last picture, my garage floor is in pretty sad shape. Doing something like this in a small garage will take it's toll sooner or later. I plan to repaint when the heavy stuff, paint, etc is done.
